Sirotinec-Coexistence
a group exhibition in Modra
Sirotinec was a group exhibition in 2023 that I was a part of. It took place in the historical building of Modranský sirotinec which is now used as an exhibition space. The theme was the coexistence - within spaces, nature, and each other.
My artworks were presented in the bathroom since the bathroom is a place of tenderness and vulnerability. I transformed it into a diary. The diary of the body - gender dysphoria, the need to transform but struggling. And the diary of being outcasted and hunted, yet finding warmth within the queer community and old friends. This exhibition was another attempt to explain even over-explain, how it feels to be transgender to be queer—a desperate reach for empathy and understanding.
Sirotinec-Coexistence bola skupinová výstava pre mladých umelcov ktorej som bol súčasťou v roku 2023. Výstava sa pravidelne koná v priestoroch opusteného Modranského sirotinca, ktorý je dnes využívaný na výstavy. Témou roku 2023 bolo spolunažívanie – v rámci krajiny, prírody, a spolu navzájom.
Moje diela boli vystavené v kúpeľni, pretože kúpeľňa je miestom očisty a zraniteľnosti. Pretvoril som ju na denník. Denník tela - rodová rozlada, potreba transformácie a rastu ktorý mi je odporieraný. Denník spolužitia - o strate podporného systému a živote menšiny, o zážitkoch prijatia priateľmi a na bezpečných miestach
